Mutton Biryani

- 300 gms rice
- Half kg mutton
- 5-6 onions sliced
- 1 tomato
- Garam and powdered masalas

1 tbs spoon oil and 1 tbs spoon ghee in the pressure cooker pan. 1Add in Garam masala – 1 Cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 1 tbl spoon saunf, 1 bay leaf (imp). Saute

Add sliced onions (5-6). After it becomes transparent/dryish, add in ginger (1tbl spoon) garlic (1tbl spoon) paste. Add 1 cut tomato and saute.

2 tbl spoon green chilli _ coriander leaves. crush them roughly in mixi and saute them till light brown. Add coriander powder for green chilli. Add mutton pieces. After 3 minutes, after it changes outer colour, put half teaspoon tumeric powder. 1 teaspoon sambar powder (all purpose masala powder. 1.5 teaspoon of salt because we took 1.5 cups of basmati rice. for mutton add half teaspoon of salt because all the salt from mutton is going to get soaked up by the rice. Mix everything, put 2.5 cups of water. after it comes to a boil, close the cooker. After 1 whistle, cook mutton for 15 minutes

After whistle is removed from cooker, add the rice (only rice since we have already added water in the cooker.) Add 5 strands of saffron. After 1 whistle, switch off the cooker. Let the cooker rest and open it after 20 minutes
